There are two full-time, fixed term roles:

  1. Covering the Glasgow and Ayr offices
  2. Covering the Dundee and Inverness offices.

Successful candidates will be expected to travel regularly between their designated offices, spending a minimum of one day per week in each. Applicants must be locally based near one of their allocated offices to ensure travel time is manageable. Occasional travel to other offices across the PDSO network will also be required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and managing business support resources across the regional office network (either Glasgow–Ayr or Dundee–Inverness), and remote management of the PDSO Aberdeen business support resource
  • Leading and mentoring support staff, including inductions, performance management reviews, and professional development
  • Acting as a technical specialist in iCasework by managing workflows, improving processes, and maintaining reporting capabilities
  • Supporting service heads with data analysis, strategy implementation, and day-to-day operational planning
  • Delivering training across office procedures and case management systems
  • Overseeing key finance processes, including invoice approvals and purchasing
  • Handling additional tasks such as records management, legal aid admin, FOI/SAR requests, and complaint monitoring.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong people management and leadership experience
  • Solid experience in business administration
  • Strong working knowledge of case management systems (ideally iCasework) and a methodical, analytical mindset
  • Great communication, mentoring, and coaching skills, with the ability to support and train others
  • Experience working in a legal practice environment and understanding civil/criminal legal processes
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and the ability to juggle competing demands
  • Confidence with data analysis and creating reports to support decision-making
  • Advanced IT skills and the discretion to handle sensitive information professionally.
